Is ND YAG Laser Effective?
What is a laser?
The acronym ‘LASER’ stands for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation. A laser works by emitting a wavelength of high energy light, which when focused on a certain skin condition creates heat and destroys diseased cells. Wavelength is measured in nanometres (nm).
Various kinds of lasers are available; they are differentiated by the medium that produces the laser beam. Each of the different types of lasers has a specific range of utility, depending on its wavelength and penetration.
What is neodymium YAG laser?
Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet) is a crystal that is used as a laser medium for solid-state lasers.
The triply ionised neodymium [Nd(III)] dopant (ie a substance added in minute amounts to another pure substance to alter its conductivity), typically replaces a small fraction of the yttrium ions in the host crystal structure, since the two ions are of similar size.
The neodymium ion provides the laser activity in the crystal.
Nd:YAG laser has a wavelength of 1064 nm and has the capability to reach deeper layers of skin tissue than other types of lasers.
In Q-switched mode, Nd:YAG produces 2 wavelengths, one in the infrared range (1064 nm) and the second beam of 532 nm wavelength which is useful for superficial skin lesions. Q-switching refers to the technique of making the laser produce a high-intensity beam in very short pulses
It adopts ND:YAG solid-state laser and advanced laser Q-switch technology. The laser Q switch is like a high-speed shutter, which can release the laser energy in a short time (about 10ns) to form a giant pulse with high energy density. When the giant laser pulse is absorbed by the diseased pigment tissue, the laser energy The action time of biological tissue is very short, thus avoiding the damage to surrounding tissues by thermal effect. The best absorption wavelength of various pigments (for example: melanocytes, red blood cells, tattoo dye particles, etc.) is different, and the absorption peak is selected to be the same The corresponding laser wavelength will most effectively remove the pigmented diseased tissue without affecting the surrounding normal tissues. This principle is called “selective photothermal effect” in laser medicine.
What is neodymium YAG laser used for?
The following skin disorders can be treated with Nd:YAG laser beams.
1. Treatment of mild and stubborn chloasma
2. Deep pigmented lesions, such as Ota mole, blue mole, etc.
3. Superficial pigmented nevus, such as freckles, age spots, etc.
4. Remove various color tattoos, eyebrow tattoos, eyeliner tattoos, etc.
5. Shrink large pores, remove small capillary dilation, effectively improve acne and other auxiliary skin rejuvenation functions
Pigmented lesions
Nd:YAG laser can be used to remove brown age spots (solar lentigines), freckles, naevus of Ota, naevus of Ito, lumbosacral melanocytosis, Hori naevus and café-au-lait-macules.
Light pulses target melanin at variable depth on or in the skin.
Hair removal
Nd:YAG laser may be used for hair removal in any location including underarms, bikini line, face, neck, back, chest and legs.
Nd:YAG laser is generally ineffective for light-coloured (blonde/grey) hair, but effective for treating dark (brown/black) hair in patients of Fitzpatrick types I to III, and perhaps light-coloured type IV skin.
Extreme caution is recommended in tanned or darker-skinned patients, as the laser can also destroy melanin, resulting in white patches of skin (leukoderma).
The longer-pulse (millisecond) 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser system has been shown to be more effective in safely removing hair than has the Q-switched (nanosecond) Nd:YAG system.
Light pulses target the hair follicle, which causes the hair to fall out and minimises further growth. Typical settings employed include pulse durations of 2 to 20 milliseconds and fluences of 10¬40 J/cm2.
Tatoo removal
Blue, grey and black tattoos can be removed with a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm wavelength).
The colour of the tattoo and the depth of the pigment influence the duration and the outcome of the laser treatment.
Laser treatment involves the selective destruction of ink molecules that are then absorbed by macrophages and eliminated.
Typical settings are pulse duration: 10 nanoseconds, output energy: 300¬500Mj.
How Does A Long Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser Work?
Nd:YAG laser energy is selectively absorbed by the deeper levels of the dermis and allows for treatment of deeper vascular lesions such as telangiectasias, hemangiomas and leg veins. The laser energy is delivered using long pulses which are converted into heat in the tissue. The heat impacts the vasculature of the lesions. In addition, the Nd:YAG Laser can treat at a more superficial level; by heating the subcutaneous skin (in a non-ablative manner) it stimulates neocollagenesis which improves the appearance of facial wrinkles.

Safe and efficient

The treatment rate is fast, the process is safe and convenient, and the treatment course is short, which saves your skin treatment time, and the treatment goes with the treatment;
Professional guarantee
It is a professional medical beauty equipment, and the treating doctors have passed the US headquarters operation training certification to ensure the safety, effectiveness and scientificity of skin beauty treatment.
Stable without recurrence
The light beam is soft, will not cause strong stimulation to the skin, the treatment stability is better, the effect of repeated effects is prevented, and the time and cost of repeated treatment are saved;
Personalized exclusive
Covers powerful skin beautification case data around the world, multi-wavelength, multi-pulse width, multi-head adjustment, treatment of different skin types is more targeted;
Precise freckle removal
No need for epidermal cooling, the “selective photothermal effect” technology can intelligently detect the depth of the pigment block, and directly target the root cause with one hit without any impact on normal skin
Lasting effect
One-time effect can quickly fade the spots, and the cure rate of simple chloasma is 99%. The clinical treatment effect for many years has shown
No side effects
Combining the dual advantages of the most authoritative experts and the use of American “safety flat hat” technology, the energy density of freckle removal is uniform, it is not easy to cause skin bleeding, and it will not cause pigmentation and hypopigmentation.
